We have full-time opportunities based in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland, on either a permanent or fixed-term basis.

What you'll do:

• Own mechanical design work on real projects, from first concept through to build and test.

• Work through problems that aren’t fully defined, often with no clear precedent, and change course when something isn’t working.

• Make the calls that are yours to make, and raise the risky ones early.

• Check your work before anyone else sees it, and help others do the same.

• Work alongside engineers from other disciplines, designers, technicians and clients, and explain your thinking plainly.

• Share what you know, and give and take honest feedback.

What you'll bring to the team:

• A Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Mechatronics), or equivalent.

• Experience owning engineering work on real projects, past graduate level.

• Confidence with 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and engineering calculations to the relevant standards.

• Care for quality, and the habit of asking early when a call isn’t yours to make.

• Curiosity, and comfort working through problems with no clear precedent.

• A bonus, not a must: FEA, Python, amusement ride standards such as AS 3533, or CPEng.

• Experience leading or mentoring others is nice to have but not required.

Where you'll work:
You can be based in Christchurch, Wellington or Auckland. Our lab and test facilities are in Christchurch, so if you’re based elsewhere, you can expect some travel. Don’t worry, we’ll take care of it.
